Should gluten go in 2025?

We have made a transformative change to our entire manufactured fresh meat range, including sausages, burgers, koftas, chicken parmesans and more, to make them entirely gluten-free.

This was put in place 3 months ago, once we had managed to ensure there was no noticeable differences in taste between out gluten-containing and gluten-free products. As a result, we do not only meet the needs of a growing demographic but offer significant benefit to our customers.

Statistics

Coeliac disease, an autoimmune condition triggered by gluten consumption, affects 1 in 100 people in the UK, yet only about 30% of those individuals are diagnosed. Additionally, many experience non-coeliac gluten sensitivity, which can cause adverse reactions even without an official diagnosis. By removing gluten from our entire range, we’ve taken a proactive approach to make our products safer and more inclusive for all.

The gluten-free market in the UK has been growing rapidly, with a estimated prediction that by 2030 there will be an annual growth rate of 8.4%. This rising demand reflects the increasing awareness of gluten-related health issues and a shift toward allergen-free food options.

The Benefits

Offering a gluten-free menu has clear advantages for our customers, particularly in reducing risks. One of the biggest challenges for our customers is the risk of cross-contamination or accidentally serving an allergen-containing product to someone with dietary restrictions. By standardising our products to be entirely gluten-free, we eliminate this concern, making it easier and safe to cater to your customers.

For our customers who run schools and care homes, the benefits are even more pronounced. These institutions often serve individuals with varied dietary needs, from children with coeliac disease to elderly residents with sensitive digestive systems. By using our gluten-free range, they can confidently provide meals that are safe, inclusive, and nutritious without needing to segregate food preparation or source specialty products separately.

Looking ahead into 2025…

As we look ahead to 2025, it’s clear that the benefits of going gluten-free speak for themselves. With fewer risks for caterers, greater inclusivity for diners, and no compromise on quality, we’re proud to lead this change.

If you’re ready to learn more about our gluten-free range or how it can benefit your business, get in touch today. Let’s make 2025 the year of safer, smarter, and more inclusive dining.
